Up-A-Creek Robotics understand the importance the community plays in our success as a team. Subsequently, we understand that giving back and being involved in our community helps form lifelong relationships and teaches lessons that go beyond the classroom. Last year alone, we volunteered over 3,000 hours in the community! Below are just a few examples of our involvement.

Kindness Washers

Where's Kindness is a program started by FRC Team 1619, to make an impact on the community through trackable kindness washers.

Holiday Food Basket

Each year, Team 1619 partners with Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA) to deliver holiday food baskets to low income, elderly citizens in Boulder County. The team works together to pack the baskets, load them and deliver them to over 100 people in the community.

VEX Robotics

Members of Team 1619 worked with local Vex Team, Red Hot Robotics, to help run their schools head-to-head event. Members also worked with students from Red Hot Robotics to offer them advice and guidance on building their Vex Robot. Additionally, the team spends time at local competitions telling anyone who will listen about our robot and the what we do.

Festival on Main

This festival is Longmont's biggest summer event, with over 18,000 people attending. Each year, the team sets up an interactive booth to showcase the robot and to tell others about the team. Many children and adults line up to drive the robot.

Amateur Radio Club's Annual Swap Meet

The Amateur Radio Club in Longmont holds a huge sale each year. The team sets up an interactive booth at this event telling all the attendees about robotics, the team and what they can do to support or participate.

Longmont Then and Now

This event celebrates the past and present of Longmont. The team sets up an interactive booth and shows the attendees how the robot works and gives them an opportunity to take it for a spin.
